About the Art

Not every villager in Zanskar has the luxury of a car to carry their things from place to place, so instead they use what they all have: horses. Horses are used to carry goods when traveling or for trekkers who come to see the sights. It is not uncommon to see someone saddling up their horses for an upcoming journey.

About the Artist

Born in a small village in Zanskar, a frigid mountain desert deep in the Himalayas, Lopsang Ringchen creates art inspired by his roots. His work will transport you to one of the most remote and beautiful places in India.

Our socks are hand-made by real people. For this reason, each pair may include subtle variations in colour and pattern details from those seen in our photos. The overall colour scheme and design will remain very similar. Sometimes one sock may appear slightly larger than the other, that is due to one stretching while being on top in the packaging. Slide them on and the shape will adjust.
